Topic description

Expected Impact: At the end of the project, the beneficiary should have achieved the following impact and results: Participation and involvement of young people from the outermost regions into their local communities. A set of low-cost innovative actions implemented by young people and youth organisations which have supported local communities or which have contributed in a visible way to improving the local living conditions, and/or local/regional priorities. A number of concrete actions with tangible results on the ground, which reinforce the sense of belonging of youth with their region, and to promote entrepreneurship that can bring economic opportunities. Achieve a reinforced sense of educational (and professional) growth and confidence from the OR youngsters, thus improving the chances of long-term success in educational (and professional) settings. Set the path for the actions in case youngsters want to continue developing their action, via the mentoring scheme. Expected Outcome: The European Union needs the engagement and the participation of young people to build a better future. The EU outermost regions are a clear example to showcase their very diverse environments and cultural living heritage. Promoting and safeguarding the intrinsic culture of all these regions via the youngster generation is a recognition for the OR communities who bear this heritage. The YOUTH4OR2 project aligns with the political guidelines for the 2024-2029 European Commission, which highlight how the young people are key in terms of using their voice to help to shape our future, and the critical role that they can play in driving social change, promoting cultural diversity, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our societies. The 2024-2029 political guidelines also call to facilitating the access of young people to our rich cultural heritage, to labour markets and to housing. Objective: The objective of the grant is to further empower and mobilise youth in the outermost regions, making them actors and promoters of change in the definition and implementation of solutions in their local communities. The chosen beneficiary will be responsible for promoting, organising and evaluating the results of two separate calls for actions under the grant scheme: one for young individuals and another for youth associations. Scope: Many EU policies are relevant to support the personal, social and professional development of youth. The YOUTH4OR2 initiative will have a bottom-up approach to allow for a broad coverage of youth concerns across the outermost regions. The actions proposed by the young people should generate added value and improvements in each respective outermost region.
