Description

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is planning to launch a call for tender for the provision of an overview of regulation, policies, strategies, initiatives and programmes for the prevention of work-related cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). The overall objectives of the contract to be awarded are to: • Identify and describe regulation, policies, strategies, initiatives and programmes at EU, Member State, regional, social partner and sectoral levels that have been implemented for the prevention of work-related CVDs, the return-to-work of workers after a CVD or the retention at work of workers with chronic CVDs. The overview should cover regulation, policies, strategies, initiatives and programmes related to OSH as well as those in other policy fields such as public health, environment, etc. as relevant. • Analyse and describe a minimum of 4 case examples/best practices fostering the prevention of work-related CVDs, the return-to-work of workers after a CVD or the retention at work of workers with chronic CVDs. The case examples should include: background /introduction, aims of the initiative, what was done and how, what was achieved, success factors and challenges, transferability, further information, references and resources. • Identify gaps and needs and provide recommendations for policy regarding the prevention of work-related CVDs, the return-to-work of workers after a CVD or the retention at work of workers with chronic CVDs. The information and case examples on regulation, policies, strategies, initiatives and programmes will be collected through desk and fieldwork research. The expected deliverables are: • A final report of approximately 50 pages or 55,000 words maximum (excluding the executive summary and references). • A stand-alone executive summary (four pages maximum) based on the content of the final report. • A minimum of 4 individual case studies/examples to be published as stand-alone documents (deliverable for publication, total length about 5-6 pages, 20.000 characters, with spaces each). • A policy brief of maximum 4-5 pages. • A PowerPoint presentation highlighting the main issues and recommendations. This should be suitable for a non-technical audience. The PowerPoint slides will be drafted using good presentational practice, keeping text to the headlines on the slides and putting further detail in speaker’s notes. The presentation should have a maximum of 15 slides and will be prepared using the template and guidelines for accessible PowerPoint presentations provided by the contracting authority to the winning tenderer once the contract has been awarded. The maximum total budget available for the contract to be awarded is EUR 40.000 (excluding VAT). It is possible to express interest as an individual organisation or a consortium.
