Full official description
The aim of this procurement is to establish two direct service contracts for the provision of design, development and testing of a prototype of a next-generation DFMC SBAS and H-ARAIM receiver, implementing navigation message authentication (NMA) functionalities, including OSNMA, to increase user segment resilience to radio frequency interference (RFI). The receiver prototypes will aim at the supporting the validation of the EUROCAE ED-259 Rev. B standard and determine the feasibility of its implementation on a representative civil aviation hardware platform. ED-259B is envisaged to be first DFMC receiver standard that will be referenced in an EASA ETSO and FAA TSO standards for user terminal equipment certification, with particular importance for both Galileo and EGNOS. ED-259B will be the first standard to enable the operational use by civil aviation users of Galileo OS, and EGNOS V3.2 (DFMC). The Receiver shall have a sufficient level of maturity to (as a minimum) carry out flight tests in a representative environment (i.e. Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7). The Receiver will integrate Navigation Message Authentication (NMA) functionalities (for SBAS and Galileo Open Service (OS)).
