The services to be procured will support the European Union (EU) to carry out a range of activities in the fields of public diplomacy and cultural relations in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macao).* The services aim to reinforce the capacity of the EU Delegation to China to undertake constant and long-term engagement to 1. Improve understanding, perceptions and attractiveness of the EU as a global actor among key stakeholders and audiences in China and 2. Enhance the EU’s reach and capacity to hold influential and informative engagements with key Chinese stakeholders over the long term. Technical assistance efforts may therefore include inter alia facilitating interactive engagement with target audiences, organisation of events including cultural events, facilitating exchanges between selected EU and Chinese think tanks and research institutes, engagement with press and media, organisation of exhibitions, provision of consultancy services and others. (*A minority of activities may need to be implemented in the EU, especially in the context of delivering reciprocal exchanges between EU and Chinese think tanks.)
